Are you one of the lucky people who set up for direct deposit for your refund, just to get an IRS letter saying it couldn’t be done and that you have to go online to put in the account numbers? You are definitely not alone this year. We are hearing it from lots of our own clients as well as from other tax preparers about their clients.

Unfortunately you would have to set up an account on the IRS website. As much as we would love to help in this situation, there is really nothing we can do for you. Hopefully things will be straightened out better before next tax year.

Most tax preparers make the joke “I blinked and tax season was over... –said no tax preparer ever”. This year we really did blink, and it really did fly by!

We had a blast this year serving our clients and working alongside one another.

For tax year 2025, we filed 1416 electronic returns, 13 paper returns, 38 extensions, 21 amendments, and answered 8,675,309 questions (okay that last one was an exaggeration but you get it).

Dave (Dad/Pappy to us) would be amazed at the growth this business has seen. From going door to door helping a few clients, to no longer being able to accept new clients as we are FULL I don’t know if he would be able to find the words. We will forever be grateful for the legacy he has left for us to carry on.

We could not be more grateful for all of you trusting us, working with us, and providing us humor (sometimes snacks and wine) throughout the season.

That’s a wrap! The office is now closed until May 4th when we will open with our (sporadic) off season hours.

Until then, you won’t hear from us... We will be enjoying time with our families!

Tomorrow is THE day! Our office will be closing at 12:00pm on Tax Day (April 15th).
We will remain closed until May 4th while we take a much needed break!
No emails, phone calls, FB messages, text messages, etc will be responded to until May 1st.

Want a quick walk through of what all happens once you drop off your taxes?

-We put you into the lineup, and onto our status list
-Once you are to the front- we see what you have brought vs what we need
--If it's all there, with ZERO questions (almost never happens)- we move on
--If there are questions (ALMOST ALWAYS THE CASE) we send you an email... we wait... and keep waiting... we email again... eventually calling you or your brother to get the answers we need (THIS STEP TAKES THE LONGEST!)
-Once completed- We review. We contact you.
-Then we wait some more... until you either come sign and pay (we can't file without signed consent) or else scan your signature page back into the portal

Once all of that is done, you've signed, you've paid, WE FILE- WOOHOO!

So yes, you dropped off and it was nicely organized, and you probably had all the documents you needed- but we still have questions. Please check your emails regularly once you drop off!

Right now we have 126 done waiting to be signed for, 33 waiting for follow up information, and 60 in the line up to be worked on.

Help shorten the wait time! Please answer your emails :)

We are less than a month away from the end of tax season, and time certainly flies by from now until April 15! If you haven’t gotten your info to us and plan to, the last day to get things to us for ample time to complete everything is April 1. Anything dropped of after April 1, we will not guarantee it will be done before the deadline and may have to file an extension.

You may have read, heard, or experienced that overtime pay (above the standard hourly rate) is not taxed.
Unfortunately, not all w2's are showing what is necessary for us to know.

If you have worked overtime, please make sure to bring your last paycheck stub of the year (2025) along with your w2's so we can see the correct amounts.

We will not be answering any phone calls or emails until then.

Welcoming a new member of your family will come with new benefits under the Working Families Tax Cuts. The and Treasury have issued guidance that overviews how Trump Accounts work and answers questions on creating the account, the $1,000 pilot program contribution and more. Taking advantage of this individual retirement account (IRA) for your child starts them off with a leg up. These funds cannot be withdrawn from the accounts until January 1 of the year the child turns 18. After that point, the account is treated like a traditional IRA.
