Fraud is rising in our country every second and there wasn't a whole lot anyone could do to prevent it from happening - until now!

The IRS has strongly encouraged every taxpayer to create an ID.me account to help keep your personal information safe. An ID.me account serves the same purpose as the physical ID's you carry in your wallet - just on the internet.

An ID.me account is also where taxpayers who received the Advanced Child Tax Credit payments can go to view all the payments they received in 2021.

All you need to do is go to IRS.gov and select "Sign in to Your Account" to get started on protecting yourself against fraud!

Welcome 2021 tax season!

Please be aware your letter from the IRS regarding Child Tax Credit receipts - Letter 6419 - may have incorrect information. It is important that you verify the amounts you received with the amounts on the letter. Go back and look at bank statements or log into your IRS account online to verify what those amounts were.

It is critical that you give your tax preparer the correct amounts for your return so it does not take any more time than necessary for the IRS to review and get your refund to you!

The supply chain issue has landed another shortage. Crutches! If you have any crutches at home that you do not need please consider donating them. If you know someone who has some please ask them to consider donating them. You can drop them off at our office and we will get them to places that need them. Adult and child size are both welcome. Thank you for looking in your basement, closets, and/or garage. No cleaning is necessary on your part.

Extended deadlines, Estimated tax payments, Stimulous Package, Covid 19 - What is going on???

We have been informed now that Illinois has followed the Fed and the 2019 IL income tax returns are not due until July 15, 2020.
The payment due on your income tax return is also not due until July 15, 2020, with no penalties or interest assessed until July 16, 2020.
The IL Estimated Tax payment schedule for 2020 remains unchanged. The first estimated payment is due April 15 and the second installment is due June 15, 3rd on September 15 and 4th due January 15, 2021.

We are still working to get as many income tax returns done as possible so those of you who have refunds coming will receive the refund as quickly as possible.

We are taking this one day at a time!

Our first priority is to make sure as many of you reamin safe as possible.

No doubt these are very difficult days due to the Coronavirus and we want to alleviate any concerns you may have.

Tax filing deadline date is currently still set for April 15, 2020. Those who owe money to the US Treasury from their tax filings have until July 15, 2020 to make the payment - interest and penalty free.

There are no current directives that the filing deadline has changed. The original due date for tax returns is still scheduled for April 15, 2020.

You can extend the returns as usual and they will not be due until October 15, 2020. But the payment is still due by July 15, 2020.

To keep you all safe as well as all of us at the office we have suspended face to face meetings until a later date.
If you would like to call, we can make arrangements to get your information to our office.

We are all healthy at this point and we want you all to be healthy too. Please call with any questions.
