3yrs ago yesterday, my mother's house caught fire while she was asleep. By the grace of God she woke up and got out minutes before the roof was engulfed in flames, and the house was a total loss.

She was an art collector, partly inspired by me and my love for Salvador Dali, and her walls were lined with her art collection. She's now passing some of that beloved artwork along to me after being restored from fire damage, and it arrived at our house today. As they now hang on our walls, I hope they become daily reminders to take nothing in life for granted and cherish everything.

Life's tragedies test us in many unimaginable new ways, which oftentimes shows that it takes a village to help overcome, and turn those tragedies into past memories of resilience and perseverance.

TIP: ideally, smoke detectors should all be hardwired & connected, but at least ensure your garage not only is equipped with a smoke detector, but that it can be heard from inside the house.
