If you paid for childcare so you could work, look for work, or attend school, you may qualify for the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit — worth up to 35% of eligible childcare expenses.

✔️ Daycare, babysitters, and in-home care may qualify
✔️ Children are generally under age 13
✔️ Documentation matters — proof of payment and provider info are required
📄 Common documents needed: • Form W-10 (childcare provider information)
• Receipts or proof of payment (checks, bank statements, payment records)

⚠️ Important:
The IRS does not allow the same childcare expenses to be claimed as both a credit and a deduction.
