Long weekend coming up. Here's our one question before you go.

Can you leave the business alone from Friday at five until Tuesday morning?

Really leave it, not just check email from the campsite?

If not, it's usually because nobody else can run things, or because you don't
trust the numbers enough to stop watching them. The first takes years to fix.

The second is a phone call.

And just like that, August is over.

Four months left in 2026. That's enough time to get the books cleaned up, fix QuickBooks for real, hand off payroll, make a smart equipment decision, and know your tax number before tax season instead of after.

It's also enough time to do none of that and end up right where you were last December, guessing. Same four months either way.

Mark it: third quarter estimated tax payments are due September 15.

You've got about three weeks, which is plenty of time to get it right instead of guessing.

Two things we see every year. Owners paying the identical amount each quarter whether business was up or down, and owners skipping a quarter figuring they'll square up in April. Both end up costing more, because the IRS charges interest on underpayments even when you eventually pay in full.

If your revenue moved this year, your payment should move too. Call us before the 15th. 330-686-6666

Most mistakes in business give you a do-over. Payroll isn't one of them.

Miss a filing deadline, there's a penalty waiting. Classify someone as a contractor who shouldn't be, and you'll be paying back taxes. Shortchange a paycheck and you've hurt your relationship with the person you count on most. I

t's also the job nobody wants, which is why it ends up getting done at 9pm on a Thursday. Let us take it. We'll run it, file it, and keep the deadlines off your calendar.

Buses are back on the road this week.

🎒 Funny thing about back-to-school. Bedtimes return. Lunches get packed the night before. Everybody knows where they need to be Tuesday at 7:15.

And then those same parents head into a business with no monthly close, no payroll calendar, and no idea what they'll owe until their accountant calls in March.
