🚨 TAX NEWS: PATH Act Reminder 🚨
📣 What you need to know this tax season!
If your tax return includes the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), the IRS is required by law to hold your refund until after February 15 — and that rule has not changed.
🔎 Here’s the part many people miss:
👉 Claiming children does NOT automatically mean your return includes EITC or ACTC.
💡 Why this matters:
If your income is above certain limits, you may not qualify for EITC or ACTC. Eligibility is based on your income, tax withholdings, and number of dependents.
✅ Good news:
If your return does NOT include EITC or ACTC, it is NOT affected by the PATH Act. That means your refund (if owed) can be processed within the normal 8–21 day timeframe, as long as the IRS doesn’t flag the return.
📌 Every tax situation is different — knowing what applies to YOU matters.
