Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) and any unexpected income can be tricky to navigate; without a solid plan, they can quickly become overwhelming and costly. 💸

However, with a solid strategy, you may be able to better control your withdrawals and tax bill, helping to keep more of your money over the long term.

Retiring early sounds great until the healthcare quotes start showing up. 🏥 💸

Landon Randall, President and Wealth Advisor, recently talked about one of the biggest hurdles many pre-retirees run into: the cost of insurance before Medicare begins at 65.

For some couples, premiums alone can completely change the timeline they originally had in mind.

That’s why retirement planning today goes far beyond investments. Healthcare strategy, subsidies, coverage options, and long-term expenses are all part of the conversation now. 💬

A lot of people hear “Social Security reform” and immediately wonder what it means for them.

Jeff Bush The Washington Update shared that his view was that any future changes would likely impact younger generations more heavily than people already in retirement or close to it.

He also pointed out something important: Social Security is ultimately a math problem, which means future reforms would probably involve adjustments across multiple areas rather than one sweeping change.

It was a helpful reminder that understanding the bigger picture can make these conversations feel a little less overwhelming.💡

Retirement often opens the door to a different kind of spending. 💸

Some folks picture trips they’ve been waiting years to take or hobbies they finally have time to enjoy. Others focus on practical costs that continue into retirement, like housing or healthcare.

Then there are families who prioritize helping the next generation, whether that means supporting children through big life moments or setting aside resources for grandchildren.

What do you think will be the biggest expense in retirement? Drop your answer in the comments below.👇

Warm weather and lower income taxes have made states like Florida, Arizona, and Texas attractive retirement destinations for many people.

But the Fidelity article we’re sharing highlights something important: lower taxes don’t always mean lower overall costs. Insurance premiums, property taxes, and housing prices can change the equation more than people expect.

Take a few minutes to read the article at the link, and if you’d like help thinking through how location impacts your long-term plan, our team would be happy to start the conversation.
