Just a reminder to people that file a partnership (Form 1065) or a corporate (Form 1120S or 1120C), these returns are due on March 16th.

There is much confusion about social security being tax free. None of the laws on social security taxation have changed. What did change is that if you were 65 or older in 2025, you may qualify for a new $6000.00 senior deduction. This applies whether you receive social security or not.

Your tax preparer may ask you for a copy of your last 2025 paystub. This may be needed to calculate the Overtime tax deduction.

Fastax is taking appointments. Office hours are 10-3 this week and next. You can also drop your tax information off instead of an appointment. We will prepare them and call you with questions and follow up. Client letters and questionnaires were mailed this week. You must complete the client questionnaire in order to get your taxes completed. Also if you worked any overtime in 2025, we will need your last paystub of 2025 to complete the Overtime deduction. If you do not have it, we will be unable to calculate the income deduction for you.

I've seen a lot of misinformation on the "social security" deduction. There is NOT a social security deduction. If you are 65 or older, you will receive a $6000.00 Senior deduction. It does not matter if you are receiving social security. It is subject to income limits. Check with your tax preparer for specifics.
