Wealth planning is often handled in pieces: investments in one place, tax strategy in another, estate planning somewhere else.

Each piece can be handled well, and gaps can still develop between them.
That space is where we work.

Confidence Wealth Management is a boutique, SEC-registered investment adviser built around integrated planning — connecting tax planning, investment management, estate planning, and retirement strategy so the pieces work together.

Our approach is simple: discovery before recommendations, strategy before tools, and a multidisciplinary team coordinated around one plan.

CWM does not provide legal advice or operate an in-house CPA practice. Estate planning document services are facilitated through provider relationships.

Money decisions get made one at a time. The rollover in March. The trust conversation in July. The capital gain in December.

Each decision is reasonable on its own. Put end to end, they become a plan nobody actually designed.

That space between decisions is what we talk about in Confidence Wealth Insiders, our new community on Facebook. The replay of our first Money Confidence LIVE, on Roth conversions, is already posted inside.

Should I do a Roth conversion?

It’s one of the questions we hear most often. And the honest answer is: it depends on much more than your tax bracket.

This Wednesday, August 12 at 12 PM PT | 3PM ET, Crystal Oculee is going live to walk through what the simple answer misses: how a conversion may affect your taxes, future Medicare premiums, the taxation of your Social Security benefits, and what your family may eventually inherit.

One question, the whole picture, and your questions answered live. If Roth conversions have been on your mind, bring what you’ve been wondering.

Roth IRA vs. 401(k) is one of the questions Crystal Oculee hears most, and her answer starts somewhere most people do not expect: your taxes, not the account.

A strategy that made sense in your 40s may deserve another look in your 60s as your income, tax picture, withdrawal needs, and estate goals change. Accumulation and preservation involve different priorities, and your strategy may need to evolve as your circumstances change. Crystal says it is a lot like fashion.

One thing worth sitting with: the account you are funding right now was probably chosen years ago. Does it still fit where your tax bracket, future withdrawals, and estate are actually headed?

If that question sticks with you, our Taxes in Retirement session examines those considerations in greater depth. Link in the comments.

Many people hold a meaningful portion of their retirement savings inside an employer-sponsored 401(k). For many investors, those accounts have historically been difficult to incorporate into an adviser’s ongoing investment management process, even when the rest of their financial life was being planned carefully.

Our team studied that obstacle, developed a structured solution, and turned it into a repeatable process. The result is a new capability to provide ongoing investment management for certain eligible participant-directed 401(k) accounts, allowing an eligible client’s workplace retirement assets to be considered alongside their other investments and broader financial plan.

It’s one of our newest “Company Inventions,” and today’s press release tells the story behind it.

Most people think retirement planning is about the investments. Brian Gilroy explains why that’s only part of the picture.

Taxes. Social Security. Income planning. Medicare. Estate planning strategy. Each of them interacts with your portfolio and with the others. When those interactions go unexamined, that’s where costly planning gaps tend to show up.

The question worth asking isn’t “How is my portfolio doing?”

It’s: Do all my financial decisions work together?

Here’s something we hear from people who feel like they’ve done everything right in retirement:

“We’ve made good decisions. But somehow the plan still feels fragile.”

That feeling is common, and it often has less to do with bad judgment than with how different decisions interact over time.

Being conservative. Keeping some cash on the side. Delaying Social Security. Leaving retirement accounts alone to grow. Each of those choices makes sense on its own.

But when nobody is looking at how they interact, taxes can rise unexpectedly and Medicare premiums can increase, even when account balances still look healthy.

The issue often is not judgment. It is how the decisions interact.

If this sounds familiar, it may be worth reviewing how the pieces of the plan are working together.

Here's something Crystal Oculee sees often: people making their Social Security decision based on general advice that was not built for their specific situation.

The timing of when you turn on Social Security is not a universal answer. It depends on your income sources, your assets, your tax picture, your spouse’s situation, and how Social Security fits into the rest of your retirement structure not on a general rule someone passed along.

Generic advice on a decision this significant can be costly over time. The right answer starts with your specific picture.
