Did you miss the Black History Month QuickBooks Roundtable discussion on health, wellness, and self-care? I don't want to tease you, but it was such a good conversation.

A few takeaways for me were:

You can learn a lot from a "NO". Use that rejection to learn more about your products and services or even your pitch and come back even stronger.

I didn't know that therapy could possibly cost you free 99. Some insurance and private health plans offer mental health coverage that could cost you as low as $0.

It takes 10 years to be an overnight success. The point here is that it will take you time to get your business off the ground but just keep marching forward and you will build something great!

Now for the good news… The panel was recorded so you can click the link below for the blog post recap and a replay of the actual session and glean as much insight as I did from the event.

Did you know dehydration can have a negative effect on the body? It can lead to reduced motivation and increased fatigue amongst other things.

So this could be a major reason you aren’t as focused as you would like to be when you’re sitting at your desk trying to work.

I’m excited to be partnering with Intuit QuickBooks in a roundtable discussion centering around health and wellness on Feb 1st.

I’ll be joined by other small business owners, Tracee Ellis Ross and Soledad O’Brien to discuss a few ways in which I’m maintaining my health and wellbeing as a business owner.

You will hear the strategies I use for drinking more water throughout the day and how diet and exercise are also key for ensuring I stay healthy during the busy tax season.

This event will also showcase other business owners who too will share with us their wellness strategies and how they are staying stress free while running successful enterprises.

There is a lot of misinformation floating around the internet about recovery rebate payments or AKA the stimulus checks. Please watch this short video to learn a few more details.

The amount received is dependent on your filing status on your most recently filed 2018 or 2019 tax return.

Filing status:

Single or Head of Household - $1,200
Married filing joint - $2,400
You will also receive $500 for each child UNDER the age of 17

These amounts begin to phase out once your adjusted gross income reaches these amounts (based on filing status):

Single - $75,000 - $99,000
Married filing joint - $150,000 - $198,000
Head of Household - $112,500 - $136,500

For every dependent UNDER age 17 claimed on the tax return you would add $10,000 to increase the beginning phase out amounts.

Update your direct deposit account information and check the status of your credit by using this link https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment

Taxpayers who are not required to file a tax return are also eligible for this payment. They can apply here https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here.
