Your emergency savings should be just for that – emergencies!

Some expenses that we consider emergencies are:
• Losing your job
• Medical emergencies
• Necessary car repairs
• Home expenses, like a leaky roof
• Traveling for a funeral

A wedding, kitchen renovation, or a luxury vacation are not emergencies. You should avoid using your emergency savings for non-emergencies so that these funds (and the peace of mind that they provide!) are there for you when you truly need it.

It's July! We're halfway through the year and it's the perfect time to do a quick mid-year check-in on your financial goals.

Here are a few things to look at:
• Are you still making progress toward your savings goals?
• Are you contributing what you'd like to your retirement accounts?
• Are your investment contributions and allocations still aligned with your goals and risk tolerance?
• Have there been any major life changes that call for an update to your financial plan?
• Are there any spending habits you'd like to adjust for the rest of the year?

You might have noticed a new face around the office- meet Antonio! He is joining Gleba & Associates for the summer as he explores future career options and opportunities. In the fall, he will be returning to Michigan State, where he studies finance!

Outside of the office, he is an executive member of Ducks Unlimited, a coach at Nationals Soccer Club, and (like any true Michigander) loves spending time outside year round, golfing, hunting, fishing, and snowboarding. Welcome, Antonio! 🎣🦆⛳
