📣 April 15 Deadline Is Almost Here!

Tax season is in full swing, and the April 15th deadline is quickly approaching!

If you haven’t already submitted your tax documents, now is the time to do so. Waiting until the last minute can lead to delays, missed information, or the need to file an extension.

📄 Help us help you by getting your documents in early, including:
✔️ W-2s and 1099s
✔️ Mortgage or student loan interest forms
✔️ Childcare expense information
✔️ Any other income or deduction records

The sooner your information is submitted, the more time there is to ensure your return is accurate and completed before the deadline.

📢 Weekly Tax Tip: March 15 Business Tax Deadline Reminder

Tax season is moving quickly, and March 15 is an important deadline for many businesses.

🗓️ March 15 Deadline Applies To:
✔️ S-Corporations – Form 1120-S
✔️ Partnerships – Form 1065

If your return isn’t ready to file by March 15, you can request an extension, which gives you additional time to file the paperwork.

⚠️ However, it’s best not to wait until the last minute. Getting your documents organized early helps ensure your return is accurate and filed on time.

📩 If your business still needs to file or you’re unsure what documents are required, reach out to our office and we’ll be happy to help.

📌 Weekly Tax Tip (for businesses): Don’t Miss These Tax Deadlines!

We’re in the middle of tax season, and business owners — this is your reminder to stay ahead of key filing dates!

🗓️ Important Upcoming Deadlines:
✔️ March 15 – S-Corporations & Partnerships (Forms 1120-S & 1065)
✔️ April 15 – C-Corporations (Form 1120)
✔️ April 15 – Sole Proprietors & Single-Member LLCs (Schedule C filed with your personal return)
✔️ April 15 – First Quarter 2026 Estimated Tax Payments

If you’re not ready to file, an extension may be available — but remember:
⚠️ An extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay.

Waiting until the last minute can mean missed deductions, cash flow stress, or penalties. Let’s make sure your books are clean and your filings are on time.

📩 Contact our office if you need assistance getting your business return filed on time!

📌 Weekly Tax Tip: Don’t Forget About 1099-K Reporting!

We’re in the heart of tax season, and this is the year many taxpayers will receive a Form 1099-K for payments processed through platforms like Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Stripe, or Square.

Here’s what you need to know:

✔ If you received payments for goods or services through third-party apps, you may get a 1099-K.
✔ The IRS receives a copy — so the income must be addressed on your return.
✔ The form reports gross payments, not profit. You can still deduct your legitimate business expenses.
✔ Personal transfers (like splitting dinner with friends) are not taxable — but misclassified payments can cause confusion.

⚠ Tip: If you receive a 1099-K and the amount looks incorrect, don’t ignore it. Let your tax professional help reconcile it properly.

Tax season isn’t just about filing — it’s about filing accurately and strategically.

Need help sorting it out? We’re here to help!

📌 Weekly Tax Tip: Don’t Forget Commonly Missed Deductions!

As we’re in the heart of tax season, many taxpayers overlook deductions and credits that could lower their tax bill. Before filing, be sure to check for:

✔️ Out-of-pocket work expenses (for self-employed individuals)
✔️ Home office deductions (if you qualify)
✔️ Student loan interest
✔️ Child and Dependent Care expenses
✔️ Retirement contributions made before the filing deadline
✔️ Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions — including contributions made up to the tax filing deadline

HSA contributions can reduce your taxable income and help cover future medical expenses—making them one of the most tax-advantaged tools available.

A quick review can make a big difference in your refund—or what you owe. When in doubt, ask your tax professional before filing!

💡 It’s better to file accurately than quickly.

📌 Weekly Tax Tip

If you’re a W-2 employee and also have side income, make sure you’re planning for taxes on both.

💡 This week’s tip: Side income (freelance work, 1099 income, online sales, etc.) usually doesn’t have taxes withheld. Setting aside money now—or adjusting your W-4—can help prevent an unexpected tax bill later.

✔️ Review your year-to-date income
✔️ Estimate taxes owed on side earnings
✔️ Set aside funds or make estimated payments if needed

💬 Question: Do you have side income outside of your main job?

01/27/2026

📌 Weekly Tax Tip:

If you’re self-employed or own a small business, don’t wait until tax time to organize your records.

💡 This week’s tip: Set aside 10–15 minutes each week to:
✔️ Save receipts
✔️ Reconcile bank transactions
✔️ Categorize expenses
✔️ Flag questions for your accountant

A little consistency now can save you hours (and stress) later—and help avoid missed deductions.

💬 Question: Do you keep your records weekly, monthly, or only at tax time?
