ASA meets every other Tuesday at 5pm. At every meeting recruiters and/or professionals from leading public accounting firms and industry companies present from a wide range of topics. In the past we have had presentations on Networking 101, Public Accounting/CPA Jeopardy, Forensic Accounting and even Tax Trivia. Every company pro
vides information on what they are looking for in candidates as well as what they have to offer and upcoming opportunities with their firm. ASA meetings give you opportunities to expand your network of students, faculty, and professionals. The connections you make with these people are vital to your success as these are the people that will be interviewing you before you graduate for various opportunities such as externships, internships, or full time offers! ASA is an awesome club because our members get out of it what they put in. There are no membership requirements or application meaning any students can pay dues and join but we do have incentives for those who are heavily involved. If you attend 5 meetings, 1 social event, 1 professional event, and 1 philanthropy event, you become an "outstanding member". Outstanding members are honored in front of faculty, professionals, and recruiters at our Accounting Banquet at the end of every year, which is another special opportunity for ASA members to network with professionals. Club dues are $50 per semester and can be paid in the form of cash, card, or check made out to ASA. The first opportunity to pay dues will be at our Club Mixer on Thursday, January 19th at 5pm in the courtyard of Eller (McCllelland Hall). We will be providing pizza and Executive Board Members will be present to answer any additional questions you may have about ASA. You can also pay dues at our first general meeting on January 19th at 5pm, location TBA.
