🐾 Why is there a cat on a financial page?

It’s a fair question.

The answer is simple.

Because TaKai isn’t just built on numbers.

It’s built on the lives, relationships, and moments that shape who we become.

You’ll occasionally see my cats here, and there’s a reason for that.

They’re part of TaKai’s story.

They remind me that every life leaves an impact.

That impact might come from a mentor.

A teacher.

A friend.

A family member.

Or sometimes…

It comes from a quiet companion who never spoke a word but still changed your life.

Every time I share one of them, it’s a reminder of something I hope never gets lost as TaKai grows.

Behind every financial decision is a person.

Behind every person is a story.

And every story deserves to be met with compassion, curiosity, and respect.

Why did TaKai grow beyond bookkeeping?

When I first started building TaKai, I thought it would be a bookkeeping business.

But the more conversations I had, the more I realized something.

People rarely come to someone because they already know exactly what they need.

Sometimes they’re trying to start a business.

Sometimes they’re overwhelmed by their finances.

Sometimes they’re preparing for a new career.

Sometimes they simply need someone to help them understand where they are before deciding where to go next.

I realized the first step isn’t usually a service.

It’s clarity.

That’s why TaKai has grown into something broader than bookkeeping.

Bookkeeping is still an important part of what we do, but it is no longer the center of our mission.

Our mission is helping people understand where they are, explore the paths available to them, and move forward with greater confidence.

Sometimes that journey continues with TaKai.

Sometimes it leads to one of our TaKai Trusted Professionals—independent professionals we’ve come to trust through experience and would confidently recommend.

Either way, success isn’t measured by whether someone becomes our client.

It’s measured by whether they leave with more clarity than when they arrived.

TaKai wasn’t created because I wanted to start a bookkeeping business.

It was created because two tiny lives changed how I see every life that crosses my path.

Tabby taught me how to begin.
Kai reminded me why we keep going.

They became the foundation for something much bigger than a bookkeeping business.

Today, TaKai exists to help people find clarity when things feel overwhelming, build a path forward, and know they don’t have to figure everything out alone.
