This week for our co-owner spotlight is Matt!

Matt received an accounting degree from Missouri State University. He started his career in corporate accounting and eventually decided to move to the lake to be closer to family. Matt’s true passion is in building relationships with local business owners and working with them to satisfy their tax and accounting needs. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time at the family farm in Versailles, being on the lake with his family as well as buying and selling classic diesel trucks and John Deere Tractors.

Our co-owner spotlight this week is Ryan! Ryan attended Missouri State University and graduated with two bachelor’s degrees; one in accounting and one in finance. He has been a licensed CPA since 2019. Ryan is very thankful for the opportunity to work with local farmers and business owners in his hometown of Versailles. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and working and hunting on the family farm. Ryan is excited to see Surface Accounting & Tax grow and to continue to serve the local community!

If you make quarterly estimated tax payments, mark your calendar. The third estimated tax payment for 2026 is due September 15.

Self-employed individuals, retirees, investors, and others who have income that isn’t subject to withholding may need to make estimated tax payments. Making payments on time can help taxpayers avoid an unexpected tax bill or possible penalties.

Our employee spotlight this week is Brooke! Brooke has been with us for almost a year, and we’re glad to have her as part of our team.
When she’s not at the office, Brooke enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being around animals, reading, and working on creative projects like cross stitching and diamond art.
We appreciate the hard work Brooke puts in and the positive attitude she brings to the office. We’re happy to have her on our team and look forward to seeing all that she accomplishes here at Surface Accounting & Tax.
