The IRS does not care that life happened to you.

I just finished a consultation with a woman who owes the IRS $32,000 from 2015.

The crazy part? This could’ve been addressed YEARS ago by simply amending her tax return.

But it wasn’t. Then life happened.

She got sick.
She became fully disabled.
Both of her kidneys are failing.
She’s now on the kidney transplant list fighting for her life.

And guess what?

The IRS is still collecting.

She has until September 7th to respond before they move forward with a federal tax lien against her home.

That’s what I need y’all to understand:

Your life can change overnight. Your IRS problem doesn’t automatically stop with it.

Sickness. Job loss. Divorce. Financial hardship. None of it automatically makes the IRS stop pursuing collection.

Thankfully, she reached out, and now we can determine what options are available to her.

But PLEASE stop waiting until the IRS is threatening your paycheck, bank account, or property before you ask for help.

Information gives you options.

Good mentorship helps you figure out which option makes sense for YOU, what order to do it in, and calls you out when you’re doing dumb 💩
