Last week, our summer interns wrapped up their time at EJC! To conclude their internships, each intern partnered with an EJC team member to present on timely topics impacting the accounting profession, the continued evolution of artificial intelligence and how it is affecting both our firm and the clients we serve.

They all did an outstanding job bringing fresh perspectives and valuable insights to the discussion. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, enthusiasm, and contributions throughout the summer. We wish them all the best as they begin another successful school year!

The EJC team came together last week for our Annual Summer Outing at Tall Ship! ⛵☀️

It was a beautiful evening filled with great company, plenty of laughs, and picture-perfect summer skies. We’re grateful for opportunities like these to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together, and celebrate the incredible team that makes EJC such a special place to work.

⚠️ Crypto holders: Be on the lookout for a new IRS impersonation scam.

The IRS is warning taxpayers about fraudulent letters directing cryptocurrency holders to a fake "Digital Asset Compliance Portal." These convincing scams often include QR codes that lead to fraudulent websites designed to steal personal information, cryptocurrency wallet details, and exchange credentials. The IRS has confirmed that no such portal exists.
As scams continue to become more sophisticated, staying informed is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your assets.

EJC welcomed its Summer New Hire Class and they have hit the ground running!

From top to bottom, left to right:

Conor Quinlan joins EJC as a Senior Tax Associate with 3+ years of public accounting experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Assumption University, and a Master of Science Degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.

Morgan Wright joins as an Audit Associate after completing a Winter Internship with EJC. Morgan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from Saint Joseph's College of Maine.

EJC welcomes back Pavlo Karcha as a Tax Associate after completing 2 tax season internships with us! Pavlo has just graduated from Bentley University with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Olivia Fi*****io joins as an Executive Assistant for our newly expanded Londonderry, NH office with 6 years of experience. Olivia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Keene State College.

Jeremy Barreto joins us as a summer intern while he finishes up his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business at the University of Rhode Island.

Caroline Melanson joins EJC as a summer intern as she finishes up her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, with a minor in Economics, at Worcester State University.

Aidan Riley joins EJC as a summer intern after completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance at Fairfield University. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science Degree in Accounting at UMass Amherst.

Vincenzo Guarino joins EJC as a Summer Intern while completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting at The University of Alabama.

Alexander Daigneault joins EJC as a summer intern as he finishes up his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship, with a minor in Real Estate at Roger Williams University.

Last week, our team rolled up their sleeves and volunteered at Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts, helping sort essential items for children in need.

EJC was a proud sponsor of ACE Mentor Program's Annual Fundraiser and Networking Event last week. The night was filled with celebration, collaboration, and connection.

ACE Mentor Program is special to EJC as our founder, Ed Callahan, was one of the first Board Members of the Boston Chapter. Our Managing Partner Chris Previte has also served on the board for 10+ years.

ACE mentor Program is a free, award-winning, afterschool program designed to attract high school students into pursuing careers in the Architectural, Construction and Engineering industry, including skilled trades. ACE is a federation of more than 75 affiliates (chapters), operating in 38 states and Canada, and largely based in metropolitan areas.

🏫 Over 14,000 students participate annually, drawn from approximately 1,800 high schools.

📚The majority of ACE students (70%) are minority, and about 40% are female.

🎓 Over 40% of ACE seniors entering college are first generation students.

🏗️ More than 5,000 volunteer industry professionals mentor student teams through a 35-hour-long simulation of designing and constructing a project.

💲Over $4.8 million in scholarships was awarded this past year to ACE students pursuing industry-related careers, totaling nearly $42 Million since ACE’s inception.

EJC's Chris Previte recently joined the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants' Entrepreneurial Firm Panel, where he shared insights on the opportunities and challenges facing entrepreneurial accounting firms in today's evolving landscape.

The discussion covered a range of timely topics, including growth and scaling strategies, capacity management, technology stack optimization, talent development, and strategic planning for 2026–2027. It was a valuable opportunity for firm leaders to exchange ideas and discuss innovative approaches to driving sustainable growth and delivering exceptional client service.
