Starting January 2nd, Trutax Professionals will begin processing Pre-ACK loans. These loans will continue to be processed until the official start of IRS e-File, typically in early February.

Please be advised that we DO NOT provide estimates. Once the return is prepared, the service has been rendered and payment is due or automatically drafted upon refund processing.

We have included a link for a Tax Refund Estimator below. Understand that a number of available credits/deductions may not be included in the figures calculated.

Lastly, we do take Theft of Services seriously and will handle them accordingly.

Under the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, signed into law in December 2015, the IRS cannot issue refunds that include Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) before mid-February.

The PATH Act, which applies to all tax preparation methods, is intended to help detect and prevent tax fraud. The extended refund release also gives the IRS more time to ensure taxpayers are properly claiming the credits, so they get the refund they are owed.

If you have questions about the processing of your tax refund, the IRS “Where’s My Refund?” page is the best place to get personalized refund information when you need it.

FYI: Tax Season is around the corner! Here are two important documents to be on the look out for in addition to W2s/1099s/1098s and other important income docs!

ACTC Letter 6419:

Helps taxpayers reconcile and receive all entitled CTC payments

The letters will begin to mail in late December and continue into January

The letter includes the total ACTC payments received in 2021 and the number of qualifying children

Use this letter to help you compare the ACTC payments received with the amount that can be properly claimed

Taxpayers can also check the amount of their payments by using the CTC Update Portal available on the IRS website.

EIP Payment #3 Letter 6475:

It only applies to taxpayers that received the third round of EIP

Third round of Economic Impact Payments started in March 2021 and continued through December 2021

Use the letter to help determine if EIP 3 recipients are entitled to or should claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on tax year 2021 tax returns that will be filed in 2022

Letter mailing will begin in late January
