Who contributed money? Who took distributions? Were any partners paid guaranteed payments? Are those transactions recorded clearly?

Before you fall in love with the house, get familiar with your credit report. 🏡

Review your reports early. Look for accounts you don’t recognize, incorrect balances, or payments reported inaccurately.

If you find an error, you can dispute it with the credit reporting company and the business that supplied the information.

Give yourself time to understand what’s there and address questions before you apply.

A credit score tells you a number. Understanding the factors gives you somewhere to start.

The chart here shows the general FICO breakdown:

• Payment history: 35%
• Amounts owed: 30%
• Length of credit history: 15%
• New credit: 10%
• Credit mix: 10%

These are general categories—not a formula that guarantees a particular score.

MY 6-MONTH RECAP

Six months ago, I was in a completely different place.
And one thing I’ll never forget is what it feels like to hear “NO.”

❌ No to the loan.
❌ No to the apartment.
❌ No to the opportunity you worked hard for.
