This Thanksgiving season, we’re considering what we’re grateful for professionally. One thing we're always thankful for is the Child Tax Credit because it has a real impact on families with children.

For 2025, families can receive:
🔹 Up to $2,200 per qualifying child under age 17
🔹Up to $1,700 may be refundable, even if no taxes are owed
🔹The credit begins to phase out at $200,000 for single filers and $400,000 for joint filers

This credit helps offset the rising costs of raising children, from groceries and school supplies to child care and clothing. It's a powerful way to reduce your tax bill and keep more of your hard-earned income.

Not sure if you qualify or are receiving the full benefit? Reach out to our team and we’ll walk you through it so you know what to expect come tax time.

As we turn the page to November, let’s take a moment to appreciate a few moments in history that shaped the way we see the world — literally and figuratively:

🎨November 14, 1840 - A visionary was born. Claude Monet, the French artist who helped spark the Impressionist movement, changed how we experience color, light, and emotion in art.

🔭November 20, 1889 - Astronomer Edwin Hubble entered the cosmos. His discoveries forever altered our understanding of the universe. The Hubble Space Telescope was named after him.

🐴November 14, 1832 - New York City saw its first horse-drawn streetcar roll along Fourth Avenue, kicking off a new era of urban transportation.

Which of these milestones captures your attention the most? Share your thoughts below!

As we reflect on gratitude this time of year, we’re considering all of the accounting moves we’re grateful for. One of them is retirement contributions, which can double as a long-term investment and a short-term tax saver.

For 2025, you can contribute:

🔹Up to $7,000 to a Traditional or Roth IRA ($8,000 if you're 50+)

🔹Up to $23,500 to a 401(k) ($31,000 if you're 50+ and even higher when you are 60-63)

Traditional IRA and 401(k) contributions can reduce your taxable income now, helping you save today and tomorrow.

If you’re curious about how you can take advantage of this tool before the end of the year, give us a call.

This November, we’re spotlighting a story that reminds us just how powerful connection can be, especially across generations. In Fullerton, California, a group of high school students and local seniors came together this summer for a one-of-a-kind camp where the lessons weren’t found in textbooks; they were found in life experiences.

Every week, students learned traditional skills like sewing, cooking, and embroidery from senior mentors. But what started as a craft project turned into something more: meaningful friendships, shared laughter, and wisdom passed down hand to hand.

This intergenerational summer camp is preserving lost skills and building bridges between generations.

This season, we're thankful for more than pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. We're also grateful for one of the simplest and most powerful tools in the tax world: the standard deduction.

For 2025, the standard deduction is:
🔹 $15,750 for single filers
🔹 $31,500 for married filing jointly
🔹 $23,625 for heads of household

It automatically reduces your taxable income — no receipts or spreadsheets required. For many, it’s the easiest way to lower that tax bill.

Not sure if you should itemize or take the standard deduction? Let’s talk before tax season hits full swing.
