The Lunch Local with EWH tour is back—and this stop was extra special! 💙

This time, we headed to Wanaki Golf Course for a great lunch with one of our valued clients, and we even got GM Jim to join us for the picture! 📸⛳

We also had the chance to bring along our newest EWH team member, Lia, for her very first Lunch Local adventure! We can't think of a better way to welcome her to the team than with good food, great company, and a little local business love. 😊

A big thank you to Jim and the entire Wanaki team for the wonderful hospitality! We always enjoy stepping away from the office, connecting with our clients outside of work, and supporting the local businesses that make our communities so great.

🚧 Parking Lot Update! 🚧

Our parking lot is still getting a little TLC, which means there will be NO parking lot access this weekend. 🛠️

If you need to drop off materials over the weekend, you can park in the daycare parking lot next door and walk over to our building. 🚶‍♀️📄

Otherwise, we'd recommend waiting until Monday—our parking lot will be open for you then! 🎉

Thanks for your patience while we get everything looking fresh and fabulous! We appreciate you bearing with us through the construction chaos. 💙

🚧 Pardon Our Progress! 🚧

We’re giving our parking lot and front sidewalks a much-needed refresh! 🎉 While the improvements are underway, we may look a little messy—but we promise it’ll be worth it. 😉

Here are a few things to know while construction is taking place:

📍 After-hours drop slot: Access to our normal front drop slot may be a little tricky while the front sidewalk is under construction. For now, you can walk along the front grass to reach the drop slot. The new sidewalk is expected to be ready by this weekend!

🚪 Temporary entrance: Our temporary building entrance is located at the back of the building. Just follow the signs and they’ll point you in the right direction.

🚨 Weekend closure: There will be NO access to our parking lot or front mail slot the weekend of August 15–16. Please plan accordingly if you need to drop off materials.

Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements! We’re excited to have a fresh new entrance and parking area when the project is complete. 🛠️✨

And yes… we promise there’s a method to all this construction madness! 😄

💬 We Were Curious, So We Asked Our Team…
“What’s one question you wish everyone asked their accountant during tax season?” 🤔

We got some great answers, and Randy brought up one that families should definitely have on their radar:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 “Can EWH help with filing my child’s tax return?”

Our answer? Absolutely!
We encourage families to let EWH help with their child’s return whenever possible. One common issue we see is a child—or someone else filing on their behalf—accidentally claiming the child as their own dependent.

That can create a domino effect: the parents may need to amend their return to properly claim the dependency, which can mean additional work and delays in receiving a refund.

By coordinating the child’s return with the parents’ return, we can help make sure everything is filed correctly and the family receives the best possible tax outcome.
So, if your child needs to file a tax return this year, ask us about it before they file! We're happy to help make sure all the pieces fit together.💙

🚨 Annual Report Emails Are Circulating Again! 🚨

If you've received an email reminding you to file your company's Annual Report, don't click that payment button just yet! 👀

We're seeing those third-party solicitation emails making the rounds again. They can look official and convincing, but the fine print—usually hiding at the very bottom—often reveals that the sender is not a government agency and the message is actually an advertisement for their services.

🔎 Our best advice? Read the fine print!

And when in doubt, reach out to us before you pay or provide any information. Annual Report filing is a service we provide for our clients, and we're always happy to help you determine what needs to be filed and when.

⛳A Diamond of a Day! 💎

Team EWH had a fantastic time at the Lake Country DockHounds annual “Diamond in the Ruff” Golf Outing on August 14th at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex!

We had a little bit of everything going on—from our spin wheel and Shut the Box game to EWH dice 🎲—and most importantly, we had a blast meeting so many great people along the way!

Even better, this was all for a great cause. ❤️ The LC DockHounds Foundation works to enrich the lives and athletic experiences of Lake Country youth through scholarships, grants for baseball and softball programs, and educational events supporting mental wellness.

We're always happy to get out in the community, support organizations doing great things, and have a little fun while we're at it! 😉

A huge thank you to the Lake Country DockHounds for another fantastic event. We can't wait to see what next year brings—and we're definitely looking forward to adding that mascot photo to the collection! 😄⚾
