What’s one of your “life rules” or side quests?

One of mine is:

Whenever I come across a photobooth*, I do it. It’s been such a fun way to capture memories with friends, family, or as a timecapsule of myself.

Honestly, I use a lot of these strips as bookmarks.

High-yield savings accounts (HYSAs) are great.

If you're not sure when, why, or how to use one, here's a quick overview:

What a HYSA is best for:

☀️ Emergency savings

☀️ Money earmarked for a goal within the next year or two

What its not typically designed for:

🌥️ Long-term savings with no specific purpose or timeline

When larger amounts of cash sit in a HYSA for years without a clear job to do, we often call that "idle cash." (If you're spicy, "lazy money.")

That's not a judgment, and it doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. It simply means there may be other strategies* worth exploring depending on your goals, timeline, liquidity needs, and overall financial picture.

Curious whether your savings are in the right place? I'd be happy to have a conversation. No charge.

*This post is for educational purposes only and is intended to discuss one potential use of a high-yield savings account. Financial strategies should be tailored to your individual circumstances, goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon. Before making any financial decisions, consult with a qualified financial professional.

Open enrollment doesn't get nearly as much attention as it deserves.

So this year, I'm adding to the conversation, bringing it up & not shutting up.

:)

For many people, it's one of the best opportunities all year to revisit important financial decisions, from retirement savings and HSAs to insurance coverage and beneficiary designations.

--- PAUSE. No seriously, read this: If it's been y e a r s since you checked your beneficiaries, especially if relationships have changed, get on that or get help with it. ---

Okay, back to it:

The goal isn't to overcomplicate things. It's simply to make sure your benefits still reflect the life you're living today, not the one you were living a year ago (or y e a r s ago).

A quick review now can help prevent missed opportunities later. Want some help?

It's open enrollment season. Yes, I'm saying it again, because being intentional this time of year is t h a t important.

Quick question:

When was the last time you reviewed your workplace benefits with intention? (beyond your health insurance selection):

☐ This year
☐ Last year
☐ I usually just renew what I had before

Many valuable benefits go underutilized simply because people don't know they're available. Open enrollment can be a great reminder to take a fresh look.

Here's a big topic in integrated financial planning: estate planning.

& what better time for me to bring that up than today, the start of National Estate Planning Awareness Week!

It's a great time to:

1. Start asking questions to give yourself a better understanding of the who/what/where/when/why/how's of estate planning.

2. Take one step to begin your planning (progress > perfection).

3. Review your existing planning for outdated or missing information.

Like many things in the financial planning world, most people won't bring it up on their own. That's understandable. It's not comfy convo... however, it's critical.

& for transparency sake, I'm at the "progress" stage of my own planning --- I could definitely be better! But we're about trying & doing over here, not perfection.

So, I'll ask you:

Have you s t a r t e d your estate planning?
Have you c h e c k e d your plans recently?
Have you a s k e d the questions?

I'm here to be a helpful resource. Book a 10-minute call with me & my team. (Link in bio)

Possibly the most overlooked part of open enrollment?

Many people spend time choosing a health plan but overlook the rest of their benefits package. Open enrollment can be an opportunity to ask:

- Am I saving enough toward retirement?

- Have my insurance needs changed?

- Are my beneficiaries up to date?

- Am I taking full advantage of benefits available to me?

A few thoughtful decisions today can help create more confidence throughout the year ahead.

If you would like some guidance walking through your benefits options, I'm running free consultations with my team.

Don't leave benefits on the table.

(No, seriously. The ghosts of missed HSA's past still haunt me. Sigh.)

Your workplace benefits package may offer more than just health insurance.

Open enrollment can be a good time to review:

✅ 401(k) contributions

✅ HSA or FSA elections

✅ Disability coverage

✅ Life insurance benefits

✅ Beneficiary designations (big one!)

These elections may play an important role in both your current financial wellness and your long-term planning strategy.

Before clicking "submit," it may be worth giving everything one more look.
