Here is a question worth sitting with for a moment. Not all of your money has the same job. Some of it may be there to cover life in the next few years. Some of it may not be touched for another two decades. And yet a lot of people invest all of it the same way, because that is just how it was set up. Asset allocation involves dividing your investments among different assets, such as stocks, bonds, and cash. But the part that often gets skipped is the why. The allocation that works for you changes at different times in your life, depending on your time horizon and your risk tolerance. So the real question is not just what you own. It is what each piece of your plan is supposed to do, and whether the way it is invested still fits that job. That is a conversation worth having. Reach out if this resonates.

Life happens. Markets shift. Health needs change. Family situations evolve. A solid retirement plan isn't rigid. It's built to adapt. When retirement doesn't unfold exactly as you imagined, flexibility becomes your strength. That might mean adjusting discretionary spending in one season, timing a major purchase differently, or revisiting priorities when circumstances shift. The goal was never to lock everything in stone. It was to build a framework that lets you make thoughtful adjustments without derailing the whole picture. If you've been thinking about whether your plan has room to breathe, that's exactly the right question to be asking. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to walk through how your plan handles change.

Who's going to help if someone gets sick or needs care? It's a question that sits quietly in the back of many people's minds. Until it doesn't. Caregiving isn't just an emotional conversation. It's a financial and logistical one too. Time off work, medical decisions, access to documents, care preferences, costs. These things matter, and they're easier to talk through now than in a crisis. If you've been meaning to have this conversation with family, this might be the moment. Not because it's urgent, but because it's worth doing while everyone can think clearly. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to talk through what a caregiving conversation might look like for your family.

When should you claim Social Security? That's a question that deserves more than just a filing date. Your claiming decision touches income needs, work plans, household longevity, and what your spouse or family might need down the line. It's part of your overall retirement picture, not separate from it. If you're approaching this milestone, it might be worth stepping back and looking at how the timing fits into the rest of your plan. Not just the numbers, but the life you're building in this next chapter. Feel free to reach out if this is something you're thinking through. I'm happy to talk it over.

What happens to your cash flow when the paycheck stops? It's the question that sits behind a lot of retirement conversations. You go from one steady income source to coordinating multiple streams. Social Security. Pensions, maybe. Investment accounts. Withdrawals. Timing. It's not just about the numbers on a spreadsheet. It's about whether you have a clear picture of how money actually moves in retirement. Before that transition gets urgent, it's worth asking yourself: Do I know where my retirement income comes from? Do I have a plan for how to access it without creating unnecessary tax friction? Have I thought about what happens in years when markets dip? These aren't small questions. They're the foundation of a retirement that works. If you haven't mapped this out yet, this might be the year to start. Reach out if you'd like to walk through it together.

Artificial intelligence is becoming a more common expectation in early-career roles.

Recent data shows that about 4.2% of entry-level job postings now reference AI skills, nearly double the share from a year ago. Internship postings are even higher, with more than 10% including AI-related requirements.

The trend spans a range of industries, with the strongest presence in technology roles, along with growing adoption in areas like financial services and marketing.

At the same time, many students report learning these tools on their own, as formal training continues to catch up with workplace expectations.

While the overall job market for new graduates remains competitive, familiarity with AI tools is becoming one way candidates can stand out across a variety of roles.

When socking away money for retirement, savvy savers are not only accumulating money but also thinking about what they won't have to spend.

Money and mental health are more connected than we often realize. Stress about bills, debt, or even keeping track of accounts can take a toll.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, it's a good time to pause and check in with yourself. Sometimes, even one small financial step—like reviewing an account balance or setting up an automatic payment—might help manage your stress and bring a sense of control.

And remember: if you're struggling with mental health, reaching out to a trusted professional or support resource can make a difference.
