🎓 College Students: Let’s Talk Taxes (Real Quick)
If you received a 1098-T, that does NOT automatically mean you’re getting a refund.
I know… nobody tells y’all this part.
That form is informational. It helps determine if you (or your parent) qualify for an education tax credit if it’s filed correctly.
Here’s where students get tripped up:
• Filing when a parent should actually claim the credit
• Assuming scholarships are always tax-free
• Forgetting books and out-of-pocket expenses
• Guessing instead of asking questions
There are credits out there worth up to $2,500, but I see students miss them every year simply because they were never taught how this works.
📚 Taxes = financial literacy.
And college students deserve education on this too.
👉 If you have a 1098-T and you’re unsure how to file, don’t guess.
📩 DM me “1098-T” or book a consult so we can make sure it’s done right and you’re not leaving money on the table.
✨ Ask questions. Learn the game. Keep your coins where they belong.
