Bray & Associates NW LLC is looking for a Tax Accountant - CPA to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing AND reviewing individual, partnership, & S-Corp tax returns.
We are seeking a candidate with 3 or more years of recent experience working at a CPA firm as a tax accountant.
The position is being offered as full time but could also work for someone seeking part time employment and a flexible schedule. We provide a broad range of tax, accounting, and consulting services to individuals and businesses. Providing excellent service with a personal touch is important to us. Therefore, the right candidate must be good with people and able to manage client relationships.
Responsibilities:
-Review tax returns prepared by junior staff members
-Delegate work and manage the flow of projects
-Prepare tax returns - more experienced staff members prepare more complex tax returns
-Contact clients directly (and meet with clients) to develop and maintain relationships
-Propose adjusting journal entries that require an acute understanding of debits and credits and working with a trial balance
-Work in QuickBooks to assist clients with accounting transactions and bookkeeping corrections
-Respond to tax notices
-Record time for hourly billing purposes
Qualifications:
-3 or more years tax preparation experience
-CPA or CPA candidate working toward certification
-Candidate must be honest, personable, hard-working, kind, and should have a sense of humor
-Have managed and reviewed the work of junior staff members
-Previous experience in Lacerte (preferred), ProSystem fx, or other professional tax preparation software
-Experience with current computer accounting programs including Adobe PDF, Excel, and QuickBooks
-Detail and deadline-oriented
-Candidate must write well and be able to explain complex issues in simplified language
-The ideal candidate would also:
---Have a small book of business and/or the desire to attract new business
---Have used Lacerte to prepare 2020 tax returns
---Have an understanding of fiduciary and estate tax matters
