As we get closer to the end of the year, our team wanted to send a quick reminder that now is a great time to check in with us about potential tax-saving opportunities before year-end deadlines arrive.

Additionally, we encourage you to reach out sooner rather than later, as our calendars tend to fill up quickly toward the end of the year.

That said, if you’d like to review your situation or discuss year-end planning opportunities, feel free to reply to this email or give the team a call.

Year-end tax planning often feels like something there will be time to deal with later, until later arrives all at once. Starting now can give your business more room to make smart decisions, avoid a last-minute rush, and take action while more options are still on the table.

One key end-of-year tax planning tip is to run a year-end tax projection. Before making any big moves, it helps to know where your income is likely to land. A year-end projection can help estimate taxable income and identify whether it makes sense to accelerate expenses, defer income where appropriate, increase retirement contributions, or adjust estimated tax payments.

Thoughtful year-end planning starts with understanding where you stand and which moves are worth making before the calendar turns. If you’re interested in running a year-end tax projection, contact our office. We are here to help your business.

So, with that in mind, our team wanted to share a quick breakdown of key considerations to help you stay informed. Swipe for more information.

When college expenses are involved, tax considerations rarely stand alone. Dependency status, credits, 529 plans, scholarships, and student income all interact. Reviewing these elements together can help you make more informed decisions and avoid surprises.

Our team is here to help guide you. Give us a call today, and we can get started.

August has a way of reminding us that change is already on its way. Summer is not quite over, but the days are already hinting at something new — earlier sunsets, a slight cool in the morning, and a quiet sense that a fresh season is just around the corner.

It can be tempting to hold on to what is familiar and comfortable, but this month is a gentle nudge to look forward instead. This is the moment to channel something new: a goal, a habit, or a mindset shift that moves you toward the next chapter with intention.

As we move through August, what is one thing you are ready to build or step into? Feel free to share it in the comments. We would love to hear what you are looking forward to.

Giving to causes you care about can be meaningful and may offer tax benefits. A few simple steps can help your generosity count at tax time and protect you from scams.

Keep good records:
• Beginning in 2026, taxpayers who do not itemize may be able to deduct up to $1,000 in qualifying cash donations, or $2,000 for married couples filing jointly
• Donations must go to qualified tax-exempt organizations
• Keep a bank record or written receipt showing the charity, date, and amount
• For gifts of $250 or more, get a written acknowledgment from the organization

Give wisely:
• Verify charities before donating, especially after disasters
• Be cautious of requests for personal information or high-pressure donation appeals
• Avoid anyone who promises a donated item will eliminate or dramatically reduce your tax bill

The bottom line: Verify before you give, and document what you gave.

It’s a common misconception that your books can easily be cleaned up at the end of the year.

Technically, cleanup can happen later, but it shouldn't. Delaying until the end of the year makes small issues bigger. Missing transactions, uncategorized expenses, unreconciled accounts, and payroll questions become much harder to address on tight, stressful deadlines.

Need help getting your books cleaned up before the end of the year? Contact our office today. We are here to keep your back office organized and running smoothly.
