✨️FUN FACT FRIDAY ✨️
Partnership tax returns used to have a different due date! On July 31st 2015 president Obama signed into law the "surface transportation and veterans healthcare choice improvement act of 2015." Prior to this, partnership returns we due April 15th. The craziest part.... it was a "fine print" add-in that changed this!

✨️ Fun Fact Friday. ✨️

In most states, there is no tax on creative and musical creations. However in North Dakota, there is a 5% composer tax. It's basically a sales tax on the total revenue from the sales or licensing of the rights to performing rights of music or dramatico-musical compositions. The BOI is back! Unfortunately, the FinCen Beneficial Ownership Interest Report is now required..... AGAIN.
If you have a business or LLC registered with the Secretary of States office, you MUST file the report by March 21st 2025 to avoid penalties of up to $500 per day!

In 2024, there were almost 14 million tax returns filed. Approximately 1/3 of those returns were submitted by tax professionals!

If your refund isn't what you wanted it to be, you can change your W-4 to increase the withholdings. If you get paid every 2 weeks, just $20 of extra withholding can increase your refund by over $500!!

North Dakota sent out an email yesterday to homeowners that applied for the Primary Residence Tax Credit last year. They are reminding people to apply again this year.

The Fun Fact? This is not a scam, but a legitimate $500 credit towards next year's property taxes!

Tuesday Tax Tip!!!!
If you are a homeowner in North Dakota, you can once again claim the PRIMARY RESIDENCE CREDIT, good for up to $500 towards next year's property taxes!
You must apply by March 31st. Let us know if you need help applying!

There are 8 states that have NO state income tax.
Of the states that do have an income tax, North Dakota is the lowest, ranging from 1.1% to 2.9%
