💡 Important IRS Update

If direct deposit information is not included with a tax return, the IRS will no longer automatically issue a paper refund check.

Instead, the IRS will send Notice CP53E, requesting updated banking information before a refund can be processed.

This additional step could delay a refund by up to 10 weeks.

Before filing, be sure your direct deposit information is accurate and included on your return to avoid unnecessary delays.

A recent Executive Order 14247 led to changes in the direct deposit options you now have available. The new direct deposit change will allow individual taxpayers to provide us with a new or updated bank account to receive their tax refund via direct deposit if certain conditions are met.
