Tax Season officially commences with the filing of 2024 tax returns electronically on January 27, 2025.

IR-2025-08, Jan. 10, 2025 — The Internal Revenue Service today announced that the nation’s 2025 tax season will start on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, and will feature expanded and enhanced tools to help taxpayers as a result of the agency’s historic modernization efforts.

An interesting read regarding the Treasury department's backlog. The past two tax filing seasons have been turbulent...the fact they are warning us this year is cause for concern.

The IRS is still dealing with backups in processing returns from the past two filing seasons.

Client Update on Covid-19 for 3/23/2020

We are monitoring the coronavirus and its implications to our clients. The TAX DEADLINE for Federal tax returns and payments due has been extended to JULY 15, 2020 for Forms 1040, 1041, certain corporate tax payments and first quarter estimated taxes due. Currently, the states are deciding what to do and we are monitoring that situation as well.

We remain committed to processing tax returns as quickly as practical. Many taxpayers are due a refund and to insure you receive refunds in a timely manner, we are encouraging clients to use our curbside drop off service. If you would rather remain in your homes, you may also mail or email your tax documents to our office for processing. Taxpayers that may owe should still have their tax returns processed as soon as they can while delaying payment of the Federal tax until July 15, 2020. Please do not relax due to the extended deadline.

Our office is open to employees and dogs only at this time. This is subject to change if we are forced to close. We are offering CURBSIDE SERVICE for drop offs and pick-ups. We also have a drop box if you’d rather use that. Please call our office 302-234-1976 when you arrive so that we may pick up or deliver directly to your vehicle.

Even though we are not permitting the public and clients into our office, we are available via telephone and email to discuss your tax needs. Please contact us so we may prepare your returns in an efficient manner.

After you review your tax returns, we will process them electronically as usual so you will receive any refunds as quickly as possible.
