Important Updates & New Policies for Yadkin Valley Accounting
As Yadkin Valley Accounting continues to grow, I want to personally thank each of you for your continued trust and support. The 2026 tax season was our busiest yet, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this community.
During the 2026 season alone, Yadkin Valley Accounting:
• Processed 456 tax returns — averaging approximately 6 returns per day during tax season
• Processed 54 W-2s and/or 1099s in January
• Assisted 5 businesses with quarterly and year-end payroll filings
• Added 5 new monthly bookkeeping clients
• Experienced multiple double-digit meeting days, with our busiest day reaching 13 scheduled meetings.
As many of you know, Yadkin Valley Accounting is currently a one-person operation. We hope to expand with more employees in the future. In order to continue providing quality service while also maintaining healthy boundaries for my family and personal life, several policy changes will take effect immediately and for the 2027 tax season.
New Policies Effective Immediately and for the 2027 Tax Season
New Phone Number
Our new business phone number is: 336-417-9891
Drop-Off & Virtual Practice
Beginning in 2027, Yadkin Valley Accounting will operate as a drop-off and virtual practice. I will no longer have the availability for clients to sit and wait for the completion of their return. Clients will be encouraged to drop off their information at the office or securely upload documents through our client portal. We are currently exploring secure after-hours drop-off options, and more details will be provided as they become available.
Amended Returns
We will no longer amend tax returns prepared by other accountants or tax preparers. We will only amend returns originally prepared by Yadkin Valley Accounting.
IRS Issues & Prior-Year Matters
Yadkin Valley Accounting will no longer assist with prior IRS issues, notices, or disputes unless the issue directly stems from a return originally prepared by our office.
Consultations
Beginning in 2027, consultations will no longer be scheduled after January 31 each year. Once tax season begins, all focus and availability must be dedicated to tax preparation and existing client workload.
Extension Policy
If your tax documents and information are received after March 25, your return will automatically be placed on extension.
Invoices & Payment Policy
All invoices must be paid in full before tax returns are filed.
Professional Expectations
Yadkin Valley Accounting is committed to providing professional, respectful, and timely service to every client. In return, disrespectful behavior, harassment, or inappropriate communication toward our business will not be tolerated.
These policy changes are not only intended to improve efficiency and service quality, but also to create a healthier and more sustainable work/life balance. I understand that I chose a profession with busy seasons and demanding deadlines, but my family must remain a priority.
The days of my family not seeing me for five days at a time, missing ball games, and missing important family moments that can never be replaced are over. These changes are necessary to ensure I can continue serving clients while also being present for the people who matter most.
Thank you again for your understanding, support, and continued business. I truly appreciate every client who trusts Yadkin Valley Accounting year after year.
Sincerely,
Devin Doss
