Serving with Purpose at First Fruits Farm
Yesterday, our Red Oak Financial Partners team had the privilege of volunteering at First Fruits Farm in Freeland, Maryland—harvesting broccoli alongside an incredible community of helpers.
First Fruits Farm is a nonprofit Christian ministry rooted in generosity and faith. Since 1998, they’ve donated 100% of their harvest—over 31 million pounds of fresh produce—to feed children, families, and individuals facing hunger across Maryland, and the Mid-Atlantic. Every head of broccoli we harvested will go directly to food banks, shelters, and organizations serving those in need.
We were humbled by the spirit of service that fills the fields at First Fruits. From young adults to seniors, volunteers come together to share in the joy of giving, knowing that every crop planted and harvested is a gift of nourishment and hope.
At Red Oak, we believe legacy is built not only through financial stewardship, but through acts of compassion and community care. Yesterday reminded us that abundance is meant to be shared—and that service is one of the most powerful ways to honor the values that are important to us. We walked away with a little mud on our boots, joy in our hearts and a renewed sense of purpose.
