Did you know the order you withdraw retirement money from actually affects your tax bill?
It's not just about how much you've saved, it's about which account you pull from first, and when.
A couple of quick things to know for 2026: married couples stay in the 12% tax bracket up to $100,800 of taxable income (single filers, it's $50,400); one dollar over that line and the next dollar gets taxed at 22%. And having a cash cushion on hand means you're not forced to sell investments during a rocky market.
Retirement withdrawal strategy is one of those things that's easy to get wrong and expensive to fix after the fact. If you're within a few years of retirement (or already there), it's worth a conversation.
