December 31 is the finish line.
If you want your moves to count for 2025, you need to act before year-end.

Smart retirees are checking now:
✔️ Have I completed RMDs?

Roth Conversions = Your Year-End Superpower
🔥 Convert before December 31 to have it count for your 2026 tax return.

Converting part of a traditional IRA or 401(k) into a Roth can:
✔️ Lock in today’s lower tax rates
✔️ Reduce future Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
✔️ Create tax-free withdrawals for life
👉 Important: Roth conversions are taxable in the year you do them, which can affect Medicare premiums (IRMAA) and Social Security taxation in that tax year. Plan carefully with projections.

Could your Social Security be taxed more than you think?
For some retirees, up to 85% of benefits can be taxable — especially if other income (like RMDs, IRA withdrawals, or capital gains) pushes provisional income higher.
Before year-end, review:
✔️ Roth conversions (done smartly)
✔️ Timing of withdrawals and sales
✔️ Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), if eligible
Even small adjustments can reduce next year’s tax bite.

Did you know women are more likely to face financial risk in retirement?

👛 On average, women live longer and may find themselves managing finances alone in later years. That’s why many women lean into Pink Money™, preferring secure income, long-term care coverage, and guaranteed financial outcomes. The Pink approach protects against uncertainty, especially when there may not be someone else to lean on later in life.

It’s not about fear—it’s about protecting your future self.

Retirement should be a time of possibility, not pause — a season of living, not just resting. Yet many retirees find themselves unsure of what’s next, feeling disconnected from their dreams, or wondering if it’s too late to start dreaming again.

In the next few Thursday posts, we’ll explore how retirees can rekindle their imagination and bring their dreams back to life — not someday, but now. It starts with vision, builds through action, and is made real through connection, intention, and thoughtful financial planning.

Today, we’ll look at WHY DREAMS MATTER IN RETIREMENT.

As Len explains, “Too many people let their dreams die—not because they couldn’t happen, but because they stopped believing or taking steps.” That’s especially common in retirement, when some individuals stop imagining a richer future simply because their career is behind them.

But retirement isn’t the end — it’s a launchpad. With time and flexibility on your side, it’s the perfect season to:

Reflect on what brings you joy
Explore new interests and rediscover old passions
Reconnect with special people and cherished memories
And dream bigger than ever before

For the past 3 Thursday’s, we’ve been diving into “how money can empower life in retirement.”

Here’s the shift in mindset: money can’t buy love or peace—but it can support the activities and causes that bring those things to life. Whether it’s funding a dream, helping someone in need, or investing in your own well-being, money becomes a tool—not just for survival or enjoyment, but for significance.

Retirement can be your most meaningful chapter—not because of how much money you have, but because of how intentionally you use it. When your financial life aligns with your deepest values, everything becomes more fulfilling.

So, if you're wondering how to use your money to create a more connected, purposeful, and joyful retirement, check out MaxAMAZING™ Your Retirement. Dig into the free resources, take a survey to gauge your enjoyment in retirement, and even schedule a chat with the author one-on-one. www.maxamazing/consultation/

Retirement is the perfect time to slow down and reflect. We started with looking at how we spend to uncover our deeper needs, and then dug into the CORE SOUL NEEDS of Identity, Purpose, Love and Peace. Who are you? What is the meaning of your life and where do you find purpose? What brings you peace? Who do you love, and how can you express it?

These questions aren’t just philosophical—they’re practical, too. They help shape how you use your time and your money to create the life you want for yourself and those you share yours with. And when your financial choices are aligned with your values (through a process Len calls “Bringing Your Money to Life”), you empower a stronger connection to your life, your community, and even yourself.

To help you walk through this process, there are free resources including a free book download of "MaxAMAZING™ Your Retirement" available at MaxAMAZING.com. The book explores:

Your identity: who you are and who you want to become
The facets of life: areas like health, relationships, community, and spirituality
Your life goals, hopes, and dreams—and how money can help make them a reality

Retirement isn’t just about money—it’s about what that money can do to enrich your life. In the next couple weeks, our Thursday posts will explore a powerful idea that goes far beyond dollars and cents: how your finances can help you connect with what matters most in life.

And it all starts with your core soul needs.

What Are Core Soul Needs?

According to Len, after decades of working with retirees as a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and life coach, he noticed a pattern: people use money in four main ways—spending, saving, investing, and planning. But underneath those financial choices are deeper desires:

Spending = pleasure
Saving = security
Investing = achievement
Planning = control
