A temporary VAT reduction is being introduced for certain family activities and children’s meals over the 2026 summer holidays.

From 25 June to 1 September 2026, some eligible supplies will be subject to VAT at 5% instead of 20%.

The rules are quite specific, so not all tickets, meals or attractions will qualify. Businesses may need to review pricing, till systems, booking platforms and VAT codes before the changes take effect.

Read our latest blog for a breakdown of what may qualify, what may not, and what businesses should be doing now.

Choosing the right accountant is about more than numbers it’s about having someone you trust to support your business, answer your questions and help you plan for the future with confidence.

At Forth Accountancy, we’re proud to build strong relationships with our clients and provide advice that’s practical, approachable and tailored to their needs.

Don’t just take our word for it, take a look at one of our recent client testimonials to hear about their experience working with us and why having the right support can make all the difference.

“We have had an excellent experience working with Forth Accountancy and would highly recommend their services to other small businesses.

From the outset, they have provided invaluable support across a wide range of areas, helping us navigate the complexities of running a business with confidence. What truly sets them apart is their willingness to take the time to explain anything we are unsure about in a clear and approachable manner. This has made a significant difference to our understanding and decision-making.

Their proactive approach and attention to detail have helped relieve a great deal of pressure from our team. They are consistently professional, responsive, and always on top of matters, ensuring that nothing is overlooked. We also greatly appreciate their openness to meeting with us whenever needed to discuss any questions or concerns.

It has been a genuine pleasure working with such a knowledgeable and supportive team. We value the relationship we have built and look forward to continuing to work together for many years to come.”

We’re delighted that Claire will be joining AAT and CIMA for a collaborative event on 11 July at Strawberry Fields, Lifton.

Set on a working farm, this event will bring together expert insight on the key challenges and opportunities facing agricultural and rural businesses today including a focused session on inheritance tax.

Kate Bell will be discussing current trends in the agricultural sector, with practical guidance on management accounting for farming businesses, as well as updates on income tax and the impact of environmental changes and government policy.

It’s the bank holiday weekend and half term and we’ve got our fingers crossed for the heat wave that’s on it way.

Some of the team are taking a well-earned break to relax and enjoy time with their families — whether that’s making the most of the Cornish coast and countryside or, in Claire’s case, enjoying some time in France!

What are your plans for the long weekend?
