Our Step - By - Step Claims Process:

Report The Incident Immediately!

What To Do When Claiming For Your Home Or Business:

STEP ONE: Assess the damage
* Can you provide the detailed circumstances of the incident?
* Were the windows damaged?
* Was the roof damaged
* Is there damage to the contents of the building ?
* Are the premises fit to live in?

STEP TWO: Provide repair details
* We'll need a full description of any emergancy repairs or any arrangements that have been made already. It is vital that we act responibly when compiling this description so speak to your local claims handler or assessment manager for guideance if theres anything you are unsure of.

What To Do When Claiming For Your Car..

STEP ONE: Schedule an appointment
Once the claim is registed, we will contact the client to make an an appointment at the nearest drive in centre.

STEP TWO: Assess and repair
Our SOS staff will arrange for emergancy repairs to ensure vehicles are roadworthy. They will then ask the following in order to direct you to the most appropriate and convenient assessment channel:

* Were any emergancy repairs already arranged? If yes, provide information about the scope of these repairs.
* If no, what is the extent of the damage with regards to motor - glass side mirrors, tail lights and head lights?
* Was the vehicle stationary or moving?
* Was there previous hail damage repaired on the vehicle?
* Are there any visible cracks in the paint?

IF IT IS A MOTOR-GLASS CLAIM:

* Did hail break through the windscreen, sunroof or rear window?
* Were any side windows damaged?

At the hail drive-in assessment centre, the damge will be assessed and your client will be referred to the most appropriate repairer. To ensure an efficient assessment; we ask that vehicles are clean when they're brought in.

We suggest you keep this guide in your cubbyhole at all times.

After an accident, you may be in shock and unable to think straight. That's when the guide will help you to take down a detailed account of the accident. This information is important, because you need it to:

1. Get a case number from the police station, where you'll be asked to give an account of what happened.

2. Claim from your insurer, which requires a case number. You'll also be asked to submit details about the accident.

STEP ONE
FIRST THINGS FIRST.

1. Stop. Stay calm. Don't admit fault.

2. Dial 0860 505 911 for our 24/7 SOS and claims line.

3. Ask the agent to dispatch a Santam-approved tow truck.

4. Take a few pictures of the scene.

5. Don't forget your case number. Report the accident to the SAPS within 24 hours.

THINGS TO TAKE PICTURES OF:

>the registration number of the other vehicle(s)

> the licence disc on the other vehicle(s), if possible

> the position of the vehicles after the accident, stepping back at least 10 metres
