π° Are you claiming all your real business expenses?
Many business owners pay more tax than necessary because valid business expenses are often missed, forgotten, or never properly recorded.
Before tax season arrives, it may be worth reviewing:
β
Software subscriptions
β
Bank charges and merchant fees
β
Phone, internet and office expenses
β
Accounting and professional fees
β
Insurance and other legitimate business costs
But there is another side to the story.
Claiming expenses is not about putting every payment through the books.
A valid claim should be:
β Business-related
β Properly supported
β Correctly recorded
β Able to withstand SARS scrutiny
Remember:
π Valid claims save tax.
π Poor claims create risk.
π Missing records can turn a legitimate deduction into a SARS problem.
The goal is not to claim more.
The goal is to claim correctly.
