Not all accountants are the same, and the difference matters when your business and your tax are on the line.
Before you hand over your books, ask three questions:
1. Who do you answer to? In South Africa, membership of a professional accountancy body is largely voluntary. Members are held to a code of conduct, ongoing training and a disciplinary process.
2. Are you a registered tax practitioner? Anyone who completes tax returns or gives tax advice for a fee must be registered with SARS and with a recognised controlling body.
3. Are you allowed to do the work I need? Statutory audits are for registered auditors only, and independent reviews are limited to qualified professionals.
Ask us all three. We welcome it.
Let’s accelerate your success together.
