We're Hiring | Senior Bookkeeper | Westville

Engineering & Consulting Business | Office-Based
We're looking for a detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in Westville. This role sits at the heart of our financial operations, the bridge between daily bookkeeping and our Senior Finance Consultant, keeping our financial "engine room" running smoothly across multiple entities.

Role Overview
You'll take ownership of the daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy in data capture, billing, and project cost tracking across a dynamic engineering and consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Bookkeeping & Xero Management
Full bookkeeping function to Trial Balance for multiple entities
Processing supplier invoices and managing debtor follow-ups
Reconciling ZAR and USD accounts (with Senior Finance oversight)
Maintaining the Xero fixed asset register
Experience with inventory and manufacturing accounts is essential
2. Project Operations & Billing
Executing customer invoicing based on project milestones
Recording project-related costs for margin analysis
Managing purchase orders and supplier documentation in coordination with the Tech/Supplier team
3. Payroll & HR Administration
Gathering and reconciling timekeeping data for payroll preparation
Inputting monthly hours and contractor invoices via SimplePay
Maintaining digital employee files and leave registers
4. Office & Compliance Support
Maintaining the Google Drive filing system and SOPs
Providing administrative support for annual audits and the EcoVadis assessment
What We're Looking For
Proficiency in Xero (non-negotiable)
Experience with Google Workspace (Sheets & Docs)
Background in inventory and manufacturing accounts
Multi-currency experience (ZAR & USD)

Office-based availability — Westville

A reliable, self-managed professional who takes pride in accuracy

Salary: R15,000 – R18,000 per month

Happy February everyone! 👋
If February passes and you haven’t dealt with provisional tax, SARS will deal with you. 🚨

February isn’t just another month ,it’s financial year-end for individuals and many trusts, and one of the most important deadlines in the tax calendar.

What does financial year-end mean?
27 February (last working day) is the cut-off date where SARS finalises the income and expenses they’ll assess you on. After this date:
• Missed expenses can’t be added
• Poor records can’t be fixed
• Your tax position is locked in

Why this matters
Financial year-end affects:
• How much tax you’ll pay
• Whether you’ll owe SARS later
• Exposure to penalties and interest
• The accuracy of your provisional tax

Provisional tax is also due:
The second provisional tax payment is due by the end of February and must be based on realistic, up-to-date figures — not guesses.

Today, our team dressed in black and stood side by side to honour the lives affected by Gender-Based Violence and to take a stand against the silence that surrounds it.

Our posters weren’t just designs ,they were messages of pain, hope, strength, and unwavering solidarity. GBV is not just a statistic we read about; it is a reality that touches homes, workplaces, schools, and communities. It affects mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and colleagues. It affects us all.

By wearing black today, we chose to reflect the weight of this issue.
By coming together, we chose unity.
By raising our voices, we chose to stand against the violence, fear, and injustice so many face every day.

Let this be a reminder that awareness is not enough action, compassion, and courage are what move us forward.
