Greetings. It has been a while since I posted here.
I was wondering with all that is going on in the country's retirement landscape and the upcoming changes on the horizon, whether members of the GEPF are concerned and considering their choices with the needed proper guidance and advice.

So this challenge will end in two days time. Many have taken your the challenge / opportunity via messages, etc to reach out . . . . Great I am looking for more people . . . .
Yesterday there was a very strong challenge... What are You and I doing about the Poverty in South Africa ? How are we making a difference in the lives of the poor people around us? There are no jobs for many people. Families go to bed without any food. People are suffering. The reality is that South Africa is the THE MOST UNEQUAL country in the world.
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE !!!
Now to change the proposition . . .
If you had found a HIDDEN TREASURE BUT you could not get to it or get it out all by yourself, Which 4 people would you take along to help you. If your promise to them is that you would share the treasure with them PROVIDED that they carried their own weight WHO WOULD YOU HELP ? Whose future would you help change ???
Ideally not your own family, but not ruling them out.

Hi There. So with us coming out of the recent Covid 19 lockdown and with so many people affected by the reduction/loss of income, and many of the people actually losing their jobs, I wanted to ask - When it comes to taking care of your family and your matters WHAT WOULD YOU be prepared to DO ( all legally of course) to get that Extra Income into your monthly budget ?.
Many families are surviving and coping with lower incomes. But if a friend offered you something to do to obtain some extra income, put another way, WHAT Would You NOT BE PREPARED TO DO ??? to get that income or extra funds.
Let me start . . . for One, I would be prepared to learn new skills .
Things like that.
I would love to hear from you. let it roll in, but only genuine responses.
So WHY Do I Ask ? Let's just say I am running this for 3 days. And then on Saturday I will offer something to those who will be able help themselves and their families in this difficult and trying times. Some that will be able to greatly assist in these financially challenging times.

What challenging times we find ourselves in . . .
Schools are re opening (or not ?);
People are going to work, and some not ;
Community cases of Covid 19 infections are prevalent,
How are You and Your family coping and managing during these times ?
I want to PLEASE ask you to give attention to some personal financial matters during this time.
These include :
1. UPDATING YOUR WILL
2. Sorting out your Payment Holidays, where applicable,
3. Re-Look at your Household Budget. Re-prioritise and get assistance where required,
4. Activate your Credit Life Insurance, where available.

Get in touch with your Financial Advisor. There is enormous amount of value that he/she can add during this time. Not everyone is aware of what's available. An experienced Advisor could safely guide you through these turbulent and challeging times.

Above all, remember that these TOUGH TIMES will pass. Your family will survive. This virus Covid 19 shall pass. Stay strong! Stay focussed. Get assistance. Help those around you.

Are you concerned about YOUR Risk Policies and the Novel Corona Virus, Covid 19 ?

If you have Monthly Sickness and/or Income Protection plans in place, and are affected by the Covid 19 Virus you MAY be able to successfully claim against your plan. This for the affected period after your normal waiting period.
If in the severe and unfortunate event of worst case and death caused by the virus, your Life Cover plan will pay out. This infection is not considered a Critical Illness. And further no long term permanent disabling impact on infected persons are envisaged by this virus.

It is important that you take the advised precautions and steps to protect yourself and your loved ones. Rather Be safe and over cautious during this rapidly spreading infection stage. I believe the situation in our country is going to get somewhat worse before it stabilises and improves. However that could be weeks away !

Hi. So we effectively have only one more month left in our SA Tax Year (01/03 to End Feb). Why is this important ?
1. Have you got an RA ? Yes a RETIREMENT ANNUITY.
It's an opportunity to top up your RA to the maximums allowed. That can effectively be 27.5% of your gross income. Take advantage of this tax efficient investment oportunity !

2. Have you got a TAX FREE INVESTMENT/SAVINGS ACCOUNT ? A TFSA ?
If you don't already, you should start one !
If you do have one, then this is also an opportunity to top up the amount contributed for this tax year.
According to SARS :
TAX FREE INVESTMENTS . . .
> You don't have to pay income tax, dividends tax or capital
gains tax on the returns from these investments.
> You can only contribute a maximum of R33 000 per tax
year (annual limit). ...
> There is a life time limit of R500 000 per person.
> If a person exceeds the limits, there is a penalty of 40% of
the excess amount.

Remember the next 4 weeks can also go by quite quickly. Plan and action these asap. Take advantage of the few tax efficient opportunities available to ordinary tax payers.

I am a man on a mission . . .
