I spent 20 years managing commercial credit and financial risk solutions before a shift changed how I work with every client.
Two decades at TransUnion and Transaction Capital taught me how businesses fail, how credit unravels, and how quietly the gap between what people earn and what they keep can destroy everything they've built.
When I moved into financial planning in 2020, I brought that lens with me, and this is what it taught me...
Most people don't have a money problem. They have a clarity problem.
They know roughly what they earn and roughly what they spend, but they've never sat down and answered the question that actually matters:
"If I stopped earning tomorrow, how long would my assets last?"
Not my income. My assets.
When I ask that question in a first meeting with a prospective client, the room usually goes quiet. Not because the answer is bad, but because most people have never been asked it before.
Clarity isn't complicated, but it takes someone sitting down with you to build it deliberately.
That's what I do now, built on understanding exactly how financial risk actually plays out.
When last did someone ask you that question and did you actually know the answer?
