I recently spoke at the FPI Convention about the human capabilities that help us build trust with our clients.

Care, curiosity, empathy, practical wisdom, self-awareness and deep listening all matter. They remind us to look beyond the immediate reaction, understand what may be happening underneath it, and be aware of the beliefs we bring into the conversation too.

Technical expertise helps us understand what is financially possible. Human capability helps us understand what is personally meaningful.

Trust needs both.
