Filing season opened today.
SARS auto-assessed most individual taxpayers between 1 and 12 July. If you weren't among them, today is the day your own filing window opens and it runs until 23 October 2026.
A few things worth checking before you submit:
→ Did you get an auto-assessment you disagreed with? You can still correct and resubmit.
→ Are your IRP5s, medical aid certificates, and retirement annuity certificates all loaded on eFiling?
→ Have you claimed everything you're entitled to such as a home office, travel, donations, additional medical expenses?
→ Provisional taxpayer? Your ITR12 deadline is later (22 January 2027 ) but your second provisional estimate is due sooner.
Filing early doesn't just tick a box. It gives you time to query anything that looks wrong, and it gets any refund owed to you moving sooner.
If your return is more complex than a simple auto-assessment: multiple income streams, rental income, a small business, or outstanding SARS correspondence, we'd rather help you get it right the first time.
