The current situation in our country is untenable for many ... we've been working long hours to help many in getting better rates on short term insurance, re-evaluating their financial situation and putting the right cover in place according to their needs... and also, putting wills in place. Have you done yours?

Our Rand is tumbling ... this does not bode well for our economic market. The side effects is that our economy slows to watch what happens and people don't make large purchasing decisions with such uncertainty. If you're not confident on your savings and investments, chat to me - let's see how we improve that for you.

I had a difficult task convincing a young couple with 3 small children to take life cover. It is a 'grudge' purchase but the right thing to do when you have kids. Sadly, the dad was in an accident and passed on. I am relieved that they did take the cover so the mommy can deal with her grief and not worry over finances. And this is why, I do what I do.

Remember the thoughts you had earlier this year about how things are going to step up in 2018? ... only you can make that happen. Move one foot forward, even if its a shuffle.

The increase in value added tax (VAT) to 15%, from 14%, with effect of 1 April 2018, is a tough political choice. Trade unions and civil society organisations are on public record opposing this option. The VAT hike became necessary due to a budget shortfall of R48.2-billion, largely due to the failure by the South African Revenue Service (Sars) to hit tax collection targets. Just a thought here ... Pay back the money .. seems like the nation is still paying for the greed of few gone past.
