Every time you lose a supplier slip, you lose a VAT input claim.

SARS doesn't accept "I couldn't find it" as a reason to reinstate it. The claim is simply gone.

For most Lowveld businesses, the slips aren't being lost — they're just not being captured properly. Petrol receipts in the cubbyhole. Till slips in a bag. Supplier invoices in a pile on the desk.

A simple rule that saves real money: capture every slip the same day it arrives. Photo, scan, or desktop capture — just don't leave it for later.
