Business Rescue
• We hold Senior Practitioner status with the Companies and Intellectual Properties Commission (the “CIPC”) and are members of good standing with South African Restructuring & Insolvency Practitioners Association (“SARIPA”) as required by s.138(1)(a) and (b) of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.
• We are able to take appointments for medium sized companies (with a public interest score between 100 and 500) and large companies (with a public interest score of 500 or more).
• We have a success rate of over 70% in business rescue and our appointments have included, inter alia, construction companies, manufacturing companies, hotels, property companies and retail outlets.
Construction Consulting Services
• Having owned and managed a medium sized Construction Company for over 35 years (CIDB Gradings 8CE/8GB) we have been involved in a large variety of projects from bridges, dams, roads, tunnels, water and sewerage purification works in Civil Engineering to numerous building projects from schools and hospitals to office blocks and housing projects; each of which had its’ own management and contractual challenges.
• Accordingly, Smoken is well acquainted with all the main forms of Construction Contracts used in South Africa (namely; FIDIC, NEC, GCC and JBCC)
