TAX SEASON: 2023 tax season opens on 7 July 2023 @ 20:00. Make sure you are ready to file your tax return.

To make your life easier, make sure you have the following at hand to complete your tax return:
• IRP5/IT3(a) certificate(s)
• Medical aid certificate(s)
• Retirement annuity certificates(s)
• If you have investments, then IT3b/IT3c certificates
• If you claim business related travel expenses, your travel logbook
• s18A donation tax certificate(s) if you contributed to a PBO
• Any other income of deductions that needed to be declared

Dates to remember:
• Individual taxpayers (non-provisional): 7 July 2023 @ 20:00 to 23 October 2023
• Provisional taxpayers: 7 July 2023 @ 20:00 to 24 January 2024
• Auto-assessments: will be issued from 1 to 7 July and you have until 23 October 2023 to amend and file your return.

Auto-Assessments:
Between 1 July and 7 July 2023, taxpayers will be notified by SMS or email if they were selected to receive an auto-assessment. Should you receive the SMS, the next step for you would be to review the auto-assessment and make sure all your deductions are included in your auto-assessment.
