As we near the end of August, we want to remind you of several important fast-approaching deadlines. Please review the following key dates and ensure your submissions are prepared and filed accordingly to remain compliant.



SARS Filing Season 2024 Updates:

Provisional Tax: The filing and payment for the 1st-period provisional tax (IRP6s) for 2025 are due on 30 August 2024.
Trusts: The filing period for trusts began on 16 September 2024 and runs until 20 January 2025.
Corporations: Be on the lookout for the updated ITR14 returns for corporations, which will be released on 16 September 2024.

EMP501 Reconciliations:

The Interim Employers Filing Season for EMP501 reconciliations runs from 1 September to 31 October 2024. Ensure your submissions are ready to commence in September.

Dear Valued Client

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) launched its beneficial ownership (BO) register for companies and close corporations on 1 April 2023 which became compulsory from 1 July 2024.

The aim of establishing the BO register is to have a repository/register of natural persons who own or exercise control over legal entities; to assist law enforcement with relevant information when it comes to their investigations of who the ultimate owners of an entity are, and to mitigate the risks identified in the national risk assessment where legal persons were identified as vehicles prone to abuse for money laundering and terror financing activities.

The register to be kept is for the applicable companies and close corporations to submit any beneficial ownership information relating to that entity. Anyone with more than 5% beneficial ownership of a company or close corporation must submit (file) with the CIPC, the requisite information.

As such, we must submit Beneficial Ownership Registers to CIPC annually, with the Annual Return (AR) in the month of the entity's registration.

The new cost involved in submitting the Beneficial Ownership Register will be communicated during the month.

This will be an annual submission. Just so you know, you as the client have the option to submit the Beneficial Ownership Register yourself., although THarold Business Strategies PRO will not be liable for any errors and or omissions.



Please note, that the Annual Return cost is NOT included with the BO process.
