Yesterday, Werksmans Attorneys and SwissIndependent Trustees S.A. hosted a seminar on Trusts for Successful HNW Families. Robyn Armstrong, Director Werksmans, and Steven Stein, CEO of SwissIndependent Trustees, introduced the topics and the speakers. Excellent presentations were given by Andrew Bayles, General Counsel at SwissIndependent Trustees, Laura Dadswell, Co-Head Private Sector Wealth at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP and Michael Honiball, Werksmans. The various topics covered the latest trends in international trust law and practice, block chain technology, digital assets in trusts, family constitutions as a road map to governing HNW family conduct and for avoiding conflicts, inter-generational wealth strategy, and South African trust tax developments arising from South Africa's FATF Grey Listing. A very big thank you to Andrew Bayles for travelling to Johannesburg from Geneva and to Laura Dadswell for travelling to Johannesburg from London to speak at this event.
