The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has made significant changes to the 2022 Tax Filing Season. This year, over 3 million individual non-provisional taxpayers, have been auto-assessed by SARS and will not have to file a tax return if they are satisfied with the outcome.

TAX TIPS - SARS Banking details data mismatches
Data mismatches with SARS backend or third party data may delay refunds or require you to visit to a SARS branch to update banking details.

# Tax Tip 1
Ensure that your bank account details with your employer (per your IRP 5) and those on SARS eFiling match, otherwise a data mismatch will arise when your employer submits its third party payroll data to SARS.

# Tax Tip 2
When you change your banking details with SARS on the RAV01, ensure that you first delete the old bank account before loading a new bank account to ensure that the old account is deleted on both the back and front end of SARS eFiling.
