Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing the team behind JCM Accounting, the people who work hard behind the scenes to support our clients with care, consistency, and professionalism.
First up is Michelee Barwise, our Office Manager and Trainee accountant.
Michelee has been part of the JCM team for 13 years, and her role includes managing financial records, processing payroll, handling accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, and helping ensure that our clients remain compliant with SARS and the Department of Labour.
She holds an Accounting Technician FET NQF Level 4 qualification through SAICA Academy and is currently working toward her AT(SA) Certificate in Accounting, with plans to continue further on her professional path.
What stands out most about Michelee is her passion, reliability, and organisation. She enjoys building lasting relationships with both colleagues and clients, and values the opportunity to grow through her work. One of the most meaningful things she has learned along the way is that numbers tell a story, and that good work requires both critical thinking and accuracy.
She believes what makes JCM Accounting special is that, although the firm may be small, the team knows how to be consistent, efficient, friendly, accurate, and honest. That same mindset is what she brings to her role every day.
Outside of work, Michelee enjoys spending time with family and friends, studying, and unwinding with her favourite shows. A small detail that says a lot about her is that simple appreciation from a client or colleague can make her whole workday better.
